Description

The obsolete GPIB-A/VME DN500 SERIES FD5 by National Instruments, known as 776303-01, is a highly capable GPIB Interface specifically designed for VMEbus systems. This interface allows users to send and receive signals and messages between the GPIB and VMEbus, with two versions available to meet different needs.

776303-01 is an obsolete GPIB-A/VME DN500 SERIES FD5 by National Instruments. This GPIB Interface, known as the GPIB-1014, is specifically designed for VMEbus systems. It serves as the communication medium for sending and receiving signals and messages between the GPIB and VMEbus. The GPIB-1014 allows users to use their personal computers as controllers, talkers, or listeners. It meets high-performance IEEE-1014 standard specifications and is tailored to the requirements of VMEbus and IEEE-488 standard. The two versions available are GPIB-1014-1 (776059-01) and GPIB-1014-2 (776060-01), with the only difference being the presence of a GPIB port on the front of GPIB-1014-1. The device offers a transfer rate of over 500 kbytes/s, operates at a +5 VDC supply voltage level, and requires a maximum current of 2.0 A. Installation in the VMEbus backplane is convenient, with configuration options including access mode, base address, and DMA address modifier. Signal compatibility between the GPIB Interface and VMEbus must be confirmed before installation, with the P1 and P2 connectors used for interfacing. The driver software for the GPIB-1014 is ESP-488.

Distribution Cache Shipping Info and Options

Shipping Carriers: Here at Distribution Cache we ship using UPS, FedEx, DHL, or TNT. In most cases we get very competitive rates based on our volume and will be happy quote shipping cost to your location upon request. We also know that many customers would prefer to ship collect on their own account numbers and welcome this option.

Shipping Process: We take pride in the way we package your order and spare no cost in making sure that it arrives safely at your facility. In the case of new parts, we are always sure to package the factory box inside another larger box for safe transit. For reconditioned parts we often use Distribution Cache customized packaging that is specially made to protect the products from the bumps and falls present during shipment.

Shipping Options:

Next Day Air Early AM - This service is the fastest overnight delivery option available. For most locations the package will be guaranteed by 8:30AM.

Next Day Air – This service guarantees delivery by 10:30AM and is the most frequently used option for overnight shipments.

Next Day Air Saver – This cost saving overnight alternative guarantees delivery by 3PM the next day.

2nd Day Air – For domestic shipments that would take 3-5 days if shipped via Ground, sometimes having the order in 2 days is a great way to go

Ground – Ground is the most inexpensive shipping option provided. Please ask if we are doing a “free domestic ground” shipping promotion on your order. We often provide free ground shipping on larger orders.

Emergency Courier – At times we can help work with a courier service to get the part to your facility during downtimes scenarios. We prefer that the customer sets up the courier but we can be there to make sure the product is handed off to the driver. Please give us a call to see if this is an option on your order.

Please Note: Products listed as “ships today” can ship same-day if an order is placed before 4PM. For larger drives and motors we ask that notification for same-day shipments be provided by 2PM at the latest. For any products listed as “ships in 3-5 days”, please give us a call to see if this can be expedited.

Its purpose is to serve as a communication medium for sending and receiving signals and messages between the GPIB and VMEbus, allowing personal computers to function as controllers, talkers, or listeners.

Question:

Does the GPIB-1014 meet any particular industry standards?

Answer:

Yes, the GPIB-1014 meets high-performance IEEE-1014 standard specifications and is tailored to the requirements of both VMEbus and IEEE-488 standards.

Question:

What are the two versions of GPIB-1014 available, and how do they differ?

Answer:

The two available versions of GPIB-1014 are GPIB-1014-1 (776059-01) and GPIB-1014-2 (776060-01). The only difference between them is the presence of a GPIB port on the front of GPIB-1014-1.

Question:

What are the performance specifications of the GPIB-1014?

Answer:

The GPIB-1014 offers a transfer rate of over 500 kbytes/s, operates at a +5 VDC supply voltage level, and requires a maximum current of 2.0 A.

Question:

What are the key considerations when installing the GPIB-1014 in a VMEbus system?

Answer:
