The 776176-32 GPIB-422CV RS-422 to GPIB Converter is a high-performance device designed by National Instruments for converting IEEE 488 to RS-422. This MicroGPIB Converter comes in two variations: part number 180465-02 with 256K RAM and 115 VAC, and part number 180465-32 with 256K RAM and 230 VAC. The GPIB-422CV does not require special commands for control and features a transparent data conversion mode between ports. Equipped with a character buffer, this convertor can identify slower devices and separate them from the faster port, improving overall efficiency. Compatible with Macintosh serial ports, the GPIB-422CV can interface a GPIB Controller or module to a PC or device with an RS-422 port such as printers, plotters, and other instruments. Its operating system is programmed by the NEC uPD7210 chip, allowing for quick response times to external data transfers. This powerful 8-bit micro-computer also features a ROM-based operating system unit and can address memory up to 256K dynamic RAM. With a current requirement of 640 mA typical and 750 mA maximum, the NI GPIB-422CV is a versatile and reliable converter for various applications.
