Description

The 186729D-01 FP-CTR-502 8 Channel Counter Input Module by National Instruments (Part Number: 777518-502) is designed to be mounted on a FieldPoint backplane, providing functionality to the module without disrupting the operation of the FieldPoint bank. Additionally, the module monitors input channels and one output channel to produce a consistent pulse train with controllable features and includes safety features such as isolation resistance and status LEDs.

The 186729D-01 FP-CTR-502 8 Channel Counter Input Module by National Instruments (Part Number: 777518-502) is designed to be mounted on a FieldPoint backplane, providing functionality to the module. It is important to note that introducing the FP-CTR-502 onto a controlled backplane does not disrupt the operation of the FieldPoint bank. When connecting the FP-CTR-502 output to a remotely controlled sourcing-input device, it is crucial to ensure that the voltage applied to the VOUT terminal by the external device does not exceed the voltage level of the power supply linked to the FP-CTR-502. Additionally, the module monitors input channels and one output channel to produce a consistent pulse train with a controllable duty cycle and period. Safety features include isolation resistance between I/O channels and the inter-module communication bus. Furthermore, if any channels on the module are connected to a hazardous potential, proper insulation must be ensured for all devices or circuits linked to that module. The FP-CTR-502 also includes two green status LEDs, POWER and READY, to indicate its operational status.
