138052A-01L PXIE XNET GEN2 4 PORT National Instruments PXIe-8510 PXI Vehicle Multiprotocol Interface Module is a portable multiprotocol interface module that comes with 2 or 6 ports and is an equipment selectable controller zone organization interface, as well as a local interconnect device for creating applications with an NI Controller. The NI PXIe-8510 features XNET, which is a function incorporated in the module that exceeds expectations in applications requiring fast ongoing control of multiple frames and CAN signals. The DMA motor controlled by the NI-XNET gadget enables the internal processor to move frames and CAN signals between the interface and the client program without disturbing the CPU, minimizing message latency and freeing up the main processor's time for processing complex models and applications. The PXIe 8510 offers CAN HS/FD and/or LIN interface with hardware selectable NI-XNET handset links, a NI-XNET driver for developing frame and signal applications in LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and C/C++, and a powered DMA engine for coupling to host memory to decrease message latency. NI has enabled speeds up to 8 Mb/s using the TJA1043 handset through the NI-XNET driver, with the ability to update documentation as needed when handset providers meet CAN FD speed criteria.
